This privacy policy applies to the BloodKnows app (hereinafter referred to as "Application") for mobile devices, which was developed by mepost, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is provided "AS IS".

1. What Information Does the Application Obtain and How Is It Used?

User Provided Information

The Application acquires the information you supply when you download and register the Application. Registration with the Service Provider is not mandatory. However, bear in mind that you might not be able to utilize some of the features offered by the Application unless you register with them.

  • Blood test results (via PDF upload or manual entry)
  • Profile information (age, weight, height, health goals)
  • Health and fitness data you choose to share
  • Contact information for account management

The Service Provider may also use the information you provided to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices, and marketing promotions (with your consent).

In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to:

  • The type of mobile device you use
  • Your mobile device's unique device ID
  • The IP address of your mobile device
  • Your mobile operating system
  • The type of mobile Internet browsers you use

2. Location Information

This Application collects your device's location for the following specific purposes:

  • Analytics and App Improvement: Aggregated and anonymized location data helps us analyze user behavior, identify trends, and improve the overall performance and functionality of the Application
  • Personalized Health Tips: We use your general geographic region to provide location-relevant health recommendations (such as seasonal health advice, regional dietary suggestions, or climate-related wellness tips)

BloodKnows analyzes your blood test results using:

  • OpenAI and specialized medical AI models for text extraction and classification
  • Multi-step AI processing chain that generates personalized health recommendations
  • Data anonymization - personal details are converted to ranges (e.g., age 26 becomes "25-29 age range", height 183cm becomes BMI calculations)
  • Integration with device health data (with your permission) to provide more comprehensive recommendations
  • Evidence-based recommendations derived from medical literature and trained AI models
Data Processing Flow:
  1. You provide blood test results (PDF or manual entry)
  2. We extract and anonymize your personal information
  3. We combine anonymized data with permitted device health data
  4. AI models process this information through multiple analysis steps
  5. We generate personalized recommendations
  6. All processed data is immediately deleted after delivering results to you
Important Limitations:
  • Our analysis is not a medical diagnosis
  • Results may not account for individual medical conditions or medications
  • Accuracy depends on the quality and completeness of input data
  • Recommendations are general wellness suggestions, not personalized medical advice

4. Third-Party Data Sharing and Protection

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways described in this privacy statement.

5. Your Privacy Rights and Data Control

What Are My Opt-Out Rights?

You can halt all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Data Access, Modification, and Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored in the Application
  • Modify your profile information and health data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Download a copy of your data (data portability)
  • Revoke consent for data processing at any time

6. Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider follows a data minimization approach:

  • Processing Data: Personal data provided for blood test analysis is processed immediately and then deleted from our servers once results are delivered to you
  • No Long-term Storage: We do not store personal health information on our servers for extended periods
  • Firebase Anonymous Authentication: User accounts use Firebase anonymous login, allowing you to delete your account instantly through the app settings
  • Temporary Storage for Quality Assurance: In rare cases where processing fails or quality issues arise, data may be temporarily retained to ensure service quality, but is deleted as soon as the issue is resolved
  • Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized usage analytics may be retained for up to 24 months for app improvement purposes

Account Deletion:

  • You can delete your account instantly using the delete button in app settings
  • Upon account deletion, all associated personal data is immediately removed
  • No personal data remains on our servers after account deletion

7. Children's Privacy

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider ([email protected]) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

8. Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve their Application.

Health Data Security:

  • All health data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
  • Access to health information is limited to essential personnel only
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect sensitive health information
  • Regular security audits are conducted to ensure data protection

Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy and notifying you through the Application or email where possible. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

By using the Application, you are giving your consent to the Service Provider's processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing," means using cookies on a computer/handheld device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining, and disclosing information.
